iPad and Laptop Program
Middle Park State School has successfully implemented 1:1 Device Programs for many years with devices used as tools to transform learning across all subject areas. BYOD iPads are currently used in Years 3-5 and BYOD laptops are used in Year 6. Our Prep to Year 2 students share pods of iPads as required.
The following documents have been revised for the 2026 school year to encompass both laptop and iPad use. The 2026 MPSS BYOD Program Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) link below should be accessed and completed by all parents/guardians who intend to send a laptop or iPad to school in 2026.
Families with a suitable device already at home are welcome to use this (see minimum specifications for both iPads and Laptops). Where a new device is needed, these can be purchased from any office, audio-visual or department store. Additionally, we have set up vendor portals listing suitable models with the following companies:

Please note you are under no obligation to purchase from either of these retailers.
Headphones are also to be purchased to match the chosen device. We prefer overhead and wired headphones (no Air Pods or earbuds).
We urge families to purchase devices early as there can be low stock numbers coming from overseas creating lengthy delays.

Changes from 2027
After extensive consultation with parents and teachers, we are moving to a model where Year 3-5 students will use school-owned 1:1 iPads. Parents will pay a yearly SRS fee for the use of the iPad which will include case, screen protector and all apps downloaded. The iPad will be managed by the school, remain the property of the school and stay at school. Our first cohort of students to take part will be Year 3 students in 2027.
