The Middle Park State School Dance Troupe runs under the instruction of Mrs Pegoraro, a teacher with a passion for dance. The group is selected using an audition process carried out at the beginning of the year. The criteria are the students must demonstrate enthusiasm, musicality, an ability to follow dance moves and be well behaved and reliable. Dance Troupe practises on Friday afternoons when other students are involved in interschool sports.
Throughout the year the Dance Troupe has the opportunity to perform on various occasions, our main focus being on a confident Wakakirri story. Other performances include the Performing Arts Celebration Evening, school assemblies, the school fete, and the Christmas concert.
During the course of the year the students will learn to develop their musicality, stage presence, their ability to pick up and retain choreography, team work and their ability to tell a story through movement in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Creative costumes, quality music and dramatic story telling in an exciting and positive environment ensure every student gets the most out of their experience in the Middle Park State School Dance Troupe.
