Health and Physical Education (HPE) programs are implemented by the HPE specialist teachers. Students are exposed to a variety of movement activities including manipulative skills, dance, games and sport education, athletics, challenge and adventure activities and aquatics. The HPE program is designed to help students develop not only physically but socially, emotionally and cognitively. Additional co-curricular programs include lunchtime activities and recreation and intra-school sport.
Swimming Program
In Term 1, students in Years 1 and 2, and in Term 4, students in Years Prep, 3, 4, 5 and 6 undertake the swimming program as part of the school's HPE program. The learn to swim/aquatic program is provided by our HPE specialist teachers and two or three swimming instructors.
Strict departmental swimming safety guidelines are applied. Swimming consent and medical information is sought from parents early in Term 1 and during the latter part of Term 3.
All children are required to wear a swimming cap, goggles, sunscreen and SPF shirt (or suit if possible). No jewellery is to be worn.
