House system

Our sports houses are Fraser (red), Bradman (green), Cuthbert (blue) and Laver (yellow).  Children are allocated to one of these houses on enrolment. Our students participate in house swimming carnivals, house cross country, house athletics and sports days.  These activities provide students opportunities to display the skills learned in their physical education lessons, with emphasis on participation.

Inter/Intra-school Sport Program

The Friday afternoon sports program enables students in Years 5 and 6 to participate in sporting activities, either for their school in the inter-school sports program, or activities at school conducted by class teachers in our intra-school sports program.  Students selected to represent the school in the inter-school sports program participate in a variety of sporting activities.

Swimming

Through the generous fundraising efforts of our P&C Association, Middle Park State School is fortunate to have a 25 metre swimming pool on site.  Years 1 and 2 have swimming in Term 1. Prep and Years 3 to 6 have swimming in Term 4.

Students turning 10 years and over in the calendar year may qualify to attend Northern Eagles district trials as a result of their performances in school swimming, cross country and athletics.  Northern Eagles district trials are also conducted in other team sports throughout the year.

Students for the three core sports of cross country, swimming and track and field will be nominated through MPSS HPE staff.  Nomination of Individual team sports are through students'/parents' expression of interest to MPSS HPE Staff.  A calendar of the Northern Eagles district trials dates is provided annually to assist parents with their planning.

Students attending any Northern Eagles district trials are to wear the MPSS uniform.

Middle Park State School students have been selected to represent the region and the state in many sports over the years. Students achieving regional or state representation are eligible to apply for funding support from our P&C Association.
